By signing the joint declaration of 12 December 2007, the aviation industry at the airport Frankfurt demonstrated their desire and willingness to consider and develop measures to disclose the potentials of active noise abatement measures as effectively as possible.

In this way, a noise relieve should be achieved, both in the current state and the future situation in 2020.

With the report submitted in June 2010 about the first Set of active noise abatement measures at Frankfurt Airport a foundation for a more far reaching balance between the interests of local residents for active noise abatement and the needs of the Airport requirements. The "expert group active noise abatement" describes the report as a first package of measures, whose implementation from the perspective of the participants may be initiated later this year.

This partitioning was chosen because the aggregate in a single document is too large and - despite today's faster Internet access - too unwieldy for the download.
