Information centre

The information centre offers various information options:
Permanent and changing exhibitions on various themes in which information is prepared and presented in a comprehensible manner.
Presentation of the results of air traffic noise, environmental and social monitoring programs which are overseen and regularly updated by the Umwelt- und Nachbarschaftshaus.
Regular events in the form of presentations and discussions (public events in different formats).
There are diverse interactions on different levels between the airport and the region. Depending on one’s point of view, the airport is a jobs engine, international aviation hub, tax payer, location advantage, growth engine, environmental disaster, noise source number 1, employer, start and end of holiday and business trips. Many of the people living in the Rhine-Main Regions experience the various aspects simultaneously. Due to the plans for the extension of the airport most of these aspects have been discussed intensively in the RDF over recent years, backed up by scientific studies and made known to the public. Supporters and opponents of the airport expansion both got to have their say. This tradition of communication is to be continued in the UNH.
An information centre will be set up there to provide neutral information to all interested parties on issues to do with Frankfurt Airport and the developments in the region. The information centre will collect existing and new information on the relevant issues and prepare and present this in such a way that visitors can gain a comprehensive picture and assess the significance of the various aspects for their own personal situation.
