By the incorporation of the ECC new standards for transparency and information were set. The neutral carrier - Gemeinnützige Umwelthaus GmbH, which founded in July 2009 by the State of Hesse, operates the ECC.
The ECC claim for itself to inform mainly neutral, correct and transparent. Its central objective is to improve communication and cooperation between the Frankfurt airport, its users and the residents sustainable. In addition, the ECC has the task to concentrate the various monitorings and review the knowledge in a neutral way.
Apart from the Statute of the tasks arising in education and information the ECC operates the businessof Board of Directors, the Coordinating Council and Convention of the FFR.
Many tasks of ECC require a high degree of experience and knowledge of Airport Mediation and Regional Dialogue Forum (RDF). Also the ECC staff is, according to it's capacity not able to edit any issues intense and appropriate equally. Thus in 2009 the Öko-Institut Darmstadt was contracted by a framework agreement for support the ECC and also the municipal representatives, for example in the Expert Group Active Noise Abatement (ExpASS).
To meet the demands and requirements, the ECC set up an information center in Kelsterbach 2013, in which interested citizens, residents, schools, students, organizations and institutions of Frankfurt Airport and the region can inform on the influence of the Airport to the region and vice versa. The plan is not to provide technical basics and procedures abstract and sober but multimedia-based, clearly visible, to be heard and felt. In regularly events and thematic focussed exhibitions technical issues and questions from interested parties will be discussed and answered.
