The Convent of the ARF consists of about 60 members that were proposed by the affected municipalities, from the aviation side, the state politics (parties), environmental and nature organizations, Local NGO's, trade associations, trade unions and churches and appointed by the Hessian prime minister.

He has the task to carry on a constructive dialogue with the region a dialogue on the topic of development of the airport. In this role, ARF is the successor organisation of the former RDF. The Convention shall receive reports, discuss topics and issues and support decision making in the steering committee.

The Convention deals inter alia with the following topics:

Noise development, measures and achievements in the field of active and passive noise abatement
