Prof. Dr. Ing. Johann-Dietrich Wörner

CEO of the German Centre for Aviation and Aerospace (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt)

 

Prof. Dr. eng. Johann-Dietrich Wörner was born in 1954 in Kassel. Since 1 March 2007 he is Chief Executive Officer of the Board of the German Centre for Aviation and Aerospace (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt - DLR e. V.). After studying construction engineering at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Berlin and the Technical University of Darmstadt, where he did his doctorate in 1985, he worked until 1990 in the engineering office of König und Heunisch. In 1990 he was appointed to the Technical University of Applied Sciences of Darmstadt and became director of the test and inspection institute. Before being elected president of the Technical University of Darmstadt in 1995, he was technical director of the institute for construction glass engineering and dean of the faculty of construction engineering.Prof. Wörner has received a series of prizes and distinctions, for example the prize of the association of friends of the Technical University of Applied Sciences of Darmstadt for “outstanding scientific achievement”. He was also appointed to the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and is chairman of the technical sciences section of the German Academy of Environmental Research  Leopoldina. Prof. Wörner also received an honorary doctorate from the State University New York (USA), the technical universities of Moldavia, Bucharest (Romania) and Mongolia, and from the University of St. Petersburg for Economy and Finance (Russia) as well as the École Centrale de Lyon (France). Prof. Wörner is also a member in various national and international supervisory bodies, advisory boards and committees. Among other things, he is a member of the Convent for Technical Sciences acatech, the supervisory board of Röhm GmbH and the International Academy of Astronautics.

Dr. Stefan Schulte

CEO of Fraport AG

Stefan Schulte was born on 9 April 1960 in Wuppertal. He is chief executive officer of  Fraport AG. He manages the Fraport group in the business fields of aviation, ground handling,   retail & properties and external activities. His portfolio also includes the strategic business division of expansion, flight and terminal operation as well as the central areas of law, auditing, corporate development and communication, marketing and lobbying.
Dr. Schulte has been working for Fraport since 2003. As chief financial officer he was initially responsible for finance, IT services and holding business. In April 2007 Dr. Schulte was appointed as vice-CEO of Fraport AG; his sphere of responsibility included the areas of flight and terminal operation, expansion, security, real estate and facility management as well as legal matters.
From 2001 to 2003 Dr. Schulte was a member of the board and work director of Deutz AG in Cologne where he was responsible for the finance as well as human resources and law. The qualified banking consultant, who did his doctorate after studying business management at the University of Cologne, began his career in 1991 in the department for group development of Deutsche Bank. From 1996 to 2000 he worked at Mannesmann Arcor in Eschborn where he was director of controlling and interconnection and then Chief Financial Officer at Infostrada S.p.A., the then Italian landline subsidiary of the Mannesmann/Vodafone group based in Milan.
Dr. Schulte is a member of the Executive Committee in the Airports Council International (ACI) and of the supervisory board of Deutsche Post AG, and also has various mandates with universities, foundations and associations in the Rhine-Main region.

Oliver Quilling

District Administrator of Offenbach

 

Oliver Quilling, born in 1965 in Offenbach, was mayor of the town of Neu-Isenburg from 1996. On 01.03.2010 he took up office as district administrator of the district of Offenbach to which he had been elected on 11.10.2009.
Quilling studied law from 1984 to 1990 at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University of Frankfurt am Main. After completing his first and second state examinations, he worked as a solicitor in Frankfurt until the start of 1996. Since 1983 he has been a member of the CDU political party, and in 1989 he was elected for the first time to the municipal council of Neu-Isenburg and the district council of Offenbach.
As the mayor of a neighbouring community and thus affected by the expansion of the Rhine-Main airport, Quilling became involved in the mediation process in 1998 and has since been a continuous member of the Regional Dialogue Forum and the successor project Forum Flughafen and Region. He is the only representative of the communities and districts in the forum who has been involved in the discussion about the expansion of the airport from the very beginning. In 2008 he was appointed by the First Minister of Hesse as one of the three chairpersons of the forum.
